Juan Pablo describes the optimal platform for a new club or sport league.

“It makes more sense to opt for SAAS platforms,” Buscaglione said, “ it allows shorter implementation time, minimal initial investment, even zero in some cases, and they allow you to gradually grow as you gain subscribers.In these ten years, we have seen many companies that opt to develop their platform from scratch either in-house or with a software factory. They end up spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on development and it takes nine months to a year to finally launch their applications not to mention the additional two months spent configuring it after launch. Needless to say, It doesn’t seem like the most efficient way to me.  The state of technology today allows you to have your OTT in weeks even days with enough flexibility to personalize the experience and deliver something unique. We all want our platforms to look as unique as possible and I think many platforms today achieve that without losing the efficacy of using something that is already built.”

Juan Pablo on monetization strategies and finding the key to growth.

“We have support for the multiple traditional business models, sponsored content and publications, as well as all the different iterations and combinations of these business models.” Buscaglione said, “ It is far more important however, to be flexible and willing to experiment with different business models. Creating extra content to engage viewers like , training videos, exclusive access to locker rooms, walking out onto the pitch from the tunnel, and second division team games. Using this content you can easily build and leverage a strategy of valuable content to attract and retain subscribers. The key is to make technological decisions that allow you flexibility to experiment with the different models, test different pricing in different markets and use data to evaluate if these initiatives work and make decisions. The main thing is to launch quickly and try models to discover what works for that specific club. An absolute necessity expected for every technological platform on which a club hopes to launch its OTT is that it has integration with mass payment means and the ability to launch advertising in its different forms.”
